Material Recycling
Sandretto are able to provide complete functioning recycling packages to our customers.
A recycling cell is composed of a sprue picker, granulator and hopper loader with proportioning valve. A recycling cell can easily be attached to an existing Injection Moulding Machine, enabling a customer to recycle sprues as they are removed from the mould. Sprues are grinded by the granulator and are then fed back into the machine by the injection machine's hopper.

Established over 40 years ago, G H Maughan (Plastics) Limited of Bolton is a family-owned business which could well be unique amongst custom moulders as it operates four different polymer processes on the same site. As well as its 13 injection moulding machines, the company runs rubber injection moulding machines, five extrusion lines producing pipe and profile and a fabrication shop manufacturing tanks, drums and point-of-sale work.
The four manufacturing units, housed in separate areas of the factory, are ISO 9002 accredited and hold the specific European certification for the various markets in which they operate.
Latest addition is a complete recycling package fitted by Sandretto to one of the company’s existing injection machines, demonstrating that machinery does not need to be new for this type of equipment to be installed.
The recycling cell comprises a sprue picker, granulator and hopper loader with proportioning valve. The sequence of operations commences with the sprue picker gripping the sprue to remove it from the mould. The mould closes and the sprue picker drops the sprue into the granulator; from here the reground material – a glass filled polymer – is fed through the proportioning valve for the loader to feed precisely the correct volume back into the injection machine’s hopper.
