THE MUSEUM: Sandretto for the culture of plastics

Together with the mainly technological contribution given by Sandretto to the development of plastics, the Company has promoted a number of initiatives representing a valuable deepening in the culture of this essential sector of the modern industry.

Among them, the Museum in Pont Canavese deserves to be mentioned, being the first museum in Europe dedicated to plastics and one of the first of its kind in the world, opened in June 1995.

Fitted out in the interiors of one of Sandretto's factories, the Museum displays one of the richest existing collections of old manufactures in plastics, from ebonite through celluloid, casein and bakelite, to the materials employed nowadays.

The collection, started in 1985 has progressively increased in the following years up to the number of 2500 pieces filed until now. At such a stage, we at Sandretto deemed that a leader company in the field of plastics should emphasize those tokens of the culture of plastics, making them available to the public and to the experts in a suitable landscape.

In ten years since it was opened, thousands of people have visited the Museum in Pont Canavese.
